What is the difference about sensor and transmitter

1. Transmitter is equivalent to signal amplifier and signal converter. AC220V transmitter provides DC10V bridge voltage to the sensor, then receives feedback signal, amplifies and outputs 0V ~ 10V voltage or current signal. There are also small DC24V transmitters that are nearly the same size as the sensor and are sometimes installed together. In general, transmitters power sensors and amplify signals. The sensor only collects signals; for example, a strain gauge converts a displacement signal into a resistance signal. Of course, some sensors without power, such as thermocouples and piezoelectric ceramics, are usually used without power.

2. We use different types of pressure sensors, but the transmitters are almost always the same. Pressure sensors usually refer to the main instrument to detect pressure signals. The pressure transmitter combines the main and secondary instruments and converts the detected signals into standard 4-20ma, 0-20 mA, or 0-5v, 0-10v signals. You can understand it vividly by "sensing" the pressure signal sent by the sensor. The transmitter not only senses the pressure, but also "converts" the standard signal and "sends" it.

A pressure sensor is a sensor that converts a pressure signal into a resistance or capacitance signal, such as a piezoresistive element or a piezoelectric element. Pressure transmitter usually refers to the complete circuit unit adjustment circuit composed of pressure-sensitive elements, which can directly output the standard voltage signal or current signal with a linear relationship with the pressure for direct acquisition of instruments, PLC, acquisition card and other equipment.
